Ruby Hung SKYN

Ruby Hung doesn't do subtlety. At least, not in the way you'd expect. The London-based designer is known for her signature hair-knit garments worn by artists including Arca, Tyla, and FKA Twigs. With her latest collection, SKYN, RH reveals a softer, more intimate side, though still entirely on her own terms.

Leather vests sit against checkered skirts with an almost casual tension. Sculpted silhouettes hug the body alongside long hair skirts. In this collection, RH works with organic fibres, leather, fur, and her signature hair, to create what she calls a "second skin." These pieces bond with the body, blur into it, forming a personal barrier through material contrasts: soft versus rigid, opacity versus transparency.

Hair has become a defining element in the designer's language. She's been hand-knitting it into garments for years, feeding strands into yarn in a process that's equal parts traditional craft and experimental. In SKYN, that technique grounds the collection's tactile obsession. You can see it in the way materials layer and drape, how they create barriers that feel personal, almost protective, while still leaving you exposed.

There's a geometry to the work: sharp lines against soft curves, rigid structures collapsing into fluid movement. One standout look pairs a leather vest (the team calls it "Trash Bag," a nickname that stuck from a late-night studio joke) with a skirt of knitted blonde and black hair, its checkered pattern turned three-dimensional. It's this kind of spontaneity and freedom that defines the designer's creative process.
